6th concert: The Real McKenzies

Hey friends,
it was weekend, so it was concert time in Helsinki.
Last Friday we went to see 'The Real McKenzies'. They are a Scottish-influenced Celtic Punk Rock band from Canada. So we thought why we shouldn't go in typical style to the concert... this means wearing some Scottish kilts. Tomi, our Finnish study friend was so nice to borrow me one of his kilts:
And this is Tomi and me, in our evening outfit.

After some predrinking at Tomi & Tytti's place we went to the concert:

...actually it was kind of a challenge to go through Helsinki with kilt and around minus 10°C... ;-)
Real McKenzies started with a Vocal canon intro...and as you could see the guys wear all kilts too...
...later in the evening we recognized several times that they wear their kilts in the traditional way... this means without underwear... ;-)

Steffi was rockin' the whole night long...
Tomi & Tytti, too...
There was also a lot of bagpipe action...
... and dozens of sing-a-longs...
One hightlight was the sing-a-long to "Wild Mountain Thyme":

Furthermore they played all their hits like: "Drink the Way I Do", "10,000 Shots", "Pickled", "Bastards", "Scots Wha’ Ha’e", "Whisky Scotch Whisky" or "Bugger Off"... it's easy to guess the topic of the songs...drinking and having fun...

Tytti, Steffi & Tomi:
Small clip from "Drink the way I do" with bagpipe solo...

And some more impressions:

...some after concert fun...

...we had some time to chat with the band after the gig...
...and we also took some pictures, here with the guitar player...

... or even the bagpipe player...

Thanks to Tytti...

...and Tomi for a nice evening:

We had a lot of fun with you!!!
