lets go on with our trip. On Saturday we continued our work through St. Petersburg: We visited the Peter and Paul Fortress as well. It is a hugh complex, which houses the famous Cathedral of the Saint Apostles Peter and Paul along with numerous museums, galleries and a spectecular river-side views. The cathedral houses the remains of almost all the Russian Emperors and Empresses from Peter the greatto Nicholas II and his family who were finallylaid to rest in July 1998...and Gold, Gold, Gold... "Church of the Saviour on the Split Blood" - what a name, but there is a story behind. The church was built on the spot where Tsar Alexander II was murdered in 1881. We took an audio guide without knowing, that it will take 40 min and in church is not THAT big, but amazing!!!
That was a really nice and golden weekend! Bye, bye Russia!
