The famous California State Route 1, better known as Highway 1 has 150 km along the West coast. The beautiful part of the road is between Monterey and San Simeon.
Sometimes fog arises from the Ocean side. A romantic and scary scene at the same time.
At many spots sea lions, sea elephants, otters and other sea animals are visible.
At the end of the road we slept in a special hotel, the Queen Mary 1 on Long Beach.
In 1936the Queen Mary made her maiden voyage. She has been regarded as one of the grandest ocean liners ever built, and the only civilized way to travel by the elite of high society.
The Queen Mary retired in 1967, and purchased by the city Ling Beach. Now the Ship is a hotel with many attractions and shows.
